Fork-it-Over Fashion: For the lavish and extravagant fashionista

I’m absolutely in love with this Stella McCartney Backless Cardigan. This Cardigan is ultra sexy and casual at the same time. An absolute must for your wardrobe…well if you can afford it. The cardigan costs $693, which is a bit much just for a cardigan, but if it doesn’t hurt your bank account go for it. You can find it at Stella McCartney boutiques. The Best Knock Offs

For all the shoe lover's out there, it is great to window shop, but putting down $500, $1000, or even more is out of the question. Effordable designers like Bebe, Steve Madden, and Baker's are replicating designer shoes for the Recessionista. There are usually some slight differences, but if you are a bargain shopper, you can find something that even a real lable whore wouldn't be able to catch. Here are some examples of my favorite knock offs this season. Not every pair is identical, but some are just for inspiration!

Poor Girl's Guide: Ciara's Blue Mini Dress

Ciara was spotted wearing a royal blue sateen mini dress, layered gold chains. gold cuff, and nude Christian Louboutin pumps. This look is great for a summer evening with bold color and subtle accessories.

We have replicated this look for a fraction of the cost. When you are trying to use a celebrity look as inspiration, be open to different colors, but stick with the same shape and style.
ASOS, an online UK catalog carries designer clothing at a great price, and also ships to the US for only $6.
Girl Props has some fun accessories that have been featured in every major magazine. They are affordable and you can also find something that no one else has.

American Apparel Nylon Print Long Sleeve Mini Dress $48

Forever21 Gold Multi Snake Chain Necklace $8.80

Girl Props Gold Cuff $10

ASOS Square Toe Pumps $110

Foot Jewelry: Introducing Alexander McQueen Pelle Leather Sandal

These shoes are extra fly! And for $1,159 a pair they should be. They have a 4 ¾ in heel, leather lining and sole, and a zip front closure. The Sandal includes an amazing detailed circular pattern on the heel. They can be worn two ways :flipped up or buttoned down. You pick your poison.

If you have $1,159 to spare, head over to couture.zappos.com

Beauty Book: Best SkinCare Products Under $10

All make-up artists will tell you that the secret to great make-up is great skincare. Taking care of your canvas is probably the most important part of your daily routine. I have listed some of my favorite skincare products that will not break the bank. All of these products can be found at any drugstore and will be priced under $10.

Always Exfoliate! When you exfoliate, you are removing a layer of dead skin, when a layer of skin is removed, your body starts producing more cells to replace the old ones. Exfoliating speeds up this process and leaves you with newer, and much softer skin.

I recommend St. Ive's Apricot Cleanser. It has a great smell, while still scrubbing away those dead cells. For those of you that have sensitive skin, St. Ive's also makes a gentle cleanser.

I do not exfoliate everyday, but at least 3 times a week. I also recommend using a lip exfoliant, and body scrub. The tougher your skin, the rougher the scrub. Next thing you know, you will have soft, smooth, and irresistible skin.

Aveeno has a great line of products that are catered to women of color.
The Ultra-Calming Cleanser is refreshing, while wiping the dirt away. It leaves skin silky smooth.

Any woman of color can tell you that dark spots can be a problem, regardless of skin tone. I used to think that Ambi was a product for my mother's generation, but they have really come a long way. Within a few days, your dark spots will disappear, and now Ambi makes the fade cream for oily, normal and dry skin. This product could change your life.

Ambi also makes a great moisturizer with 30 SPF. Although some of us might have lots of pigment in our skin, its important to keep products on our face that protect our skin. This moisturizer will even your skin tone, while providing a protective layer to keep your skin radiant. Remember, "the black don't crack"... this will ensure it!

One part of the face that many women ( and men) forget to take care of is the lips. I treat my lips like the rest of my face. I exfoliate them with a lip exfoliant once a week, and I also moisturize daily. Burt's Bees keeps my lips soft all day, while also providing SPF 8 protection. No more chapped lips! Plus it has a tingling minty after effect!
