Beauty Book: Best SkinCare Products Under $10

All make-up artists will tell you that the secret to great make-up is great skincare. Taking care of your canvas is probably the most important part of your daily routine. I have listed some of my favorite skincare products that will not break the bank. All of these products can be found at any drugstore and will be priced under $10.

Always Exfoliate! When you exfoliate, you are removing a layer of dead skin, when a layer of skin is removed, your body starts producing more cells to replace the old ones. Exfoliating speeds up this process and leaves you with newer, and much softer skin.

I recommend St. Ive's Apricot Cleanser. It has a great smell, while still scrubbing away those dead cells. For those of you that have sensitive skin, St. Ive's also makes a gentle cleanser.

I do not exfoliate everyday, but at least 3 times a week. I also recommend using a lip exfoliant, and body scrub. The tougher your skin, the rougher the scrub. Next thing you know, you will have soft, smooth, and irresistible skin.

Aveeno has a great line of products that are catered to women of color.
The Ultra-Calming Cleanser is refreshing, while wiping the dirt away. It leaves skin silky smooth.

Any woman of color can tell you that dark spots can be a problem, regardless of skin tone. I used to think that Ambi was a product for my mother's generation, but they have really come a long way. Within a few days, your dark spots will disappear, and now Ambi makes the fade cream for oily, normal and dry skin. This product could change your life.

Ambi also makes a great moisturizer with 30 SPF. Although some of us might have lots of pigment in our skin, its important to keep products on our face that protect our skin. This moisturizer will even your skin tone, while providing a protective layer to keep your skin radiant. Remember, "the black don't crack"... this will ensure it!

One part of the face that many women ( and men) forget to take care of is the lips. I treat my lips like the rest of my face. I exfoliate them with a lip exfoliant once a week, and I also moisturize daily. Burt's Bees keeps my lips soft all day, while also providing SPF 8 protection. No more chapped lips! Plus it has a tingling minty after effect!
